FILM FESTIVAL TITLE PRODUCER FF1-11 Polar Cataract in High Myope Chin Pei SIUW Malaysia A case of polar cataract in a high myope, with an axial length of 29 mm on biometry. One must know step by step in order to tackle problems in polar cataract during operation things such as the size of CCC, hydrodelineation, options for viscoelastic, and how to use a second instrument to help remove the nucleus. In this case of a high myope, the AC was very deep and the capsular bag was big. In this video, I had the chance to remove the soft nucleus mainly with aspiration and the aid of a second instrument. The remaining central opacity in the posterior capsule would be lasered later. Preoperative counseling was done. FF1-12 ‘Stamp the Tunnel’ for Perfection in Manual SICS Allapitchai FATHIMA India Manual SICS is the cataract surgery widely practiced in developing countries like India. The course of surgery and complications associated with SICS are determined majorly by the architecture of the corneo- scleral tunnel. Hence, we are demonstrating an innovative device to mark the outline of corneo-scleral tunnel, so that the novice surgeons can follow the mark and make an appropriate sclerocorneal tunnel with perfect frown-shaped scleral incision, adequate side pocket, and appropriate corneal entry. This will help to reduce induced astigmatism and complications such as corneal endothelial damage due to inadequate corneal entry and side pocket. The device we have demonstrated is a prototype. We are trying to make it in silicon material with two different dimensions that would suit softer and harder/bulky cataracts. FF1-13 MIWAY a New Hope Merlin BENZY India Morgagnian cataracts with liquefied cortices pose a higher risk of capsular complication due to a distended capsular bag, floppy posterior capsule, and absence of any cushioning epinucleus. Intraocular lens (IOL) scaffold combined with miLoop nucleotomy is a new technique which reduces ultrasound time and assures bisecting the posterior nuclear plate while shielding the posterior capsule throughout the surgery. FF1-14 The Luxurious Comfort: A 3D surgical experience Naren SHETTY India Cataract surgery has advanced by leaps and bounds to now include heads-up 3D visualization during phacoemulsification utilizing NGENUITY 3D visualization system. We studied surgeon’s comfort, ease of visualization, and outcome of cataract surgeries performed by five (5) surgeons using the Ngenuity system and compared them with surgeries done by same surgeons on the standard operating microscope (SOM). We found that lower illumination on Ngenuity system produced better patient cooperation and comfort, better visualization for the surgeon, and all parameters were evaluated using a novel “surgeon’s comfort score” questionnaire. The Ngenuity System is a great new tool for the surgeon and patient’s comfort and also a must-have teaching tool in present-day operating theaters. FF1-15 In Despair Claudio TRINDADE Brazil This video describes a new lens-based treatment for keratoconus: refractive lens exchange with pinhole implant piggyback. We present the results of a series of 68 eyes with keratoconus, and a clear lens (with a mean age of 39.2 years old), treated with this new approach. The film aims at candidate selection, preoperative evaluation, and postoperative follow-up. 75
