15 2026 APACRS LIM LECTURE The APACRS LIM Lecture is the highest award of the society. Since 1991, outstanding ophthalmologists who have made extraordinary contributions to the development of cataract and refractive surgery have been invited to deliver this lecture at the Opening Ceremony of the APACRS annual meeting. Dr. Sri Ganesh, founder of Nethradhama Hospitals Pvt Ltd and Shraddha Eye Care Trust, began his ophthalmology practice in 1994 and currently oversees 10 eye hospitals across India. He has been at the forefront of refractive surgery technologies, starting with radial keratotomy in 1994 and LASIK in 1997. An exceptionally skilled surgeon, he has performed over 120,000 cataract surgeries and 75,000 refractive surgeries. With a keen interest in innovation and technological advancement, Dr. Sri Ganesh has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and contributed over six book chapters. He has conducted pioneering work on corneal lenticule extraction techniques and the use of lenticules in tissue addition to correct hyperopia and keratoconus. As a committed educator, he has trained more than 300 national and international fellows in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Sri Ganesh has received numerous awards and honours, including an honorary doctorate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (2014), an honorary FRCS (Glasgow) (2018), the Gold Medal Oration from the Australasian Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS) (2017), the IIRSI Gold Medal (2007), the BOA Gold Medal (2011), the Michael Kritzinger Award from the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS) (2022), an Honorary FAICO in refractive surgery from the All India Ophthalmological Society, and charter fellowship of the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Science (WCRS).He was awarded the APACRS Gold medal in 2025 at the APACRS in Ahmedabad. A highly sought-after speaker, he has delivered numerous orations and lectures at national and international conferences, conducted countless instruction courses and symposia, and performed over 100 live surgical demonstrations worldwide. He is a member of several national and international ophthalmic societies, including the prestigious Intraocular Implant Club (IIIC) founded by Sir Harold Ridley. He is currently the Secretary of the IIIC and the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Officers of the APACRS.
